Notes Toward Becoming

At the Threshold, 2026

At the threshold they turned back only to arrive where they started.

We spend a great deal of time learning how to be seen.

Eventually the image can become more familiar than the person beneath it.

We reach the threshold expecting something new, only to find ourselves back where we started, but seeing it anew.

The portrait is full. The frame is empty, and person is harder to place.
